Central Florida defeats East Carolina 81-63

GRENVILLE, N.C. (AP) — Isaiah Sykes scored 20 points and grabbed 10 rebounds, and Central Florida defeated East Carolina 81-63 on Saturday to snap a four-game losing skid in the series.

Keith Clanton added 16 points to give him 1,008 points in his career at UCF. A.J. Rompza also scored 16 and Marcus Jordan had 12 for the Knights (12-3, 2-0 Conference USA), who have won four games in a row and eight of their past nine.

The Knights have won their first two conference games for the first time since the 2007-08 season. UCF had its best shooting night of the season, making 52.2 percent (35 of 67) from the field as Sykes went 10 of 15.

The Knights went on a 17-2 run in the second half to build its biggest lead of the game at 57-35 with 12:19 remaining.

Miguel Paul scored 21 points to lead East Carolina (9-6, 0-2).
