Eastern Kentucky beats Southeast Missouri 63-59

RICHMOND, Ky. (AP) — Jaron Jones made a free throw with 23 seconds left and the senior guard scored the last eight points of the game for Eastern Kentucky, leading the Colonels to a 63-59 win over Southeast Missouri on Saturday night.

Neither team led by double digits in the game. After a basket by Jones, Southeast Missouri took a 59-57 lead when Leon Powell scored on a layup with 2:06 left in the second half.

But Eastern Kentucky (10-7, 4-1 Ohio Valley Conference) held the Redhawks scoreless the rest of the way. Jones tied the game at 59-all then hit the two go-ahead free throws for the Colonels.

Jones, who finished with 20 points, sealed the victory for Eastern Kentucky with two more free throws. Joshua Jones added 20 points for the Colonels.

Tyler Stone scored 18 points for Southeast Missouri (8-8, 3-1), and Marcus Brister added 14 points and seven rebounds.
