Hornqvist leads Predators past Hurricanes, 5-2

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) — Patric Hornqvist scored two power-play goals to lead the Nashville Predators to a 5-2 win over the Carolina Hurricanes on Saturday night.

Shea Weber, Craig Smith and Ryan Ellis also scored as Nashville won for the fourth time in five games.

Jay Harrison scored twice for Carolina, which is 1-2-1 in its last four.

Hornqvist’s second goal of the game and 111th of the season gave the Predators a 4-0 lead nearly 7 minutes into the third period.

Harrison got the Hurricanes on the board with his fourth of the season at 8:35.

Ellis extended the margin back to four with his first NHL goal, on the power play with 5:32 remaining.
