Pegg leads Stetson past Jacksonville 73-61

DELAND, Fla. (AP) — Adam Pegg scored 19 points as Stetson pulled away in the second half Saturday for a 73-61 Atlantic Sun Conference win over Jacksonville.

Chris Perez added 16 points and Aaron Graham 14 for the Hatters (6-9, 3-2), who shot 54.5 percent from the field (24 of 44) and hit 21 of 30 free throws to snap a two-game home skid.

The Dolphins (2-13, 0-4), who have lost 11 in a row, shot only 36.2 percent from the floor (21 of 58) and made 15 of 22 free throws.

Jacksonville used a 16-3 run to lead 18-12 at the 9:32 mark. Tied at 25, the Hatters closed the half with a 9-2 spurt.

The Dolphins again pulled ahead, this time 44-43 on a Glenn Powell free throw with 12:58 to play, then Pegg scored four straight points to give Stetson the lead for good.

Powell scored 15 to lead Jacksonville.
