BOWLING GREEN, Ky. (AP) — Justin Wright scored 17 points and Troy rallied to beat Western Kentucky 67-65 on Saturday.

Troy (6-9, 1-3 Sun Belt Conference), which trailed 36-30 at halftime, opened the second half with a 28-8 run to take a 58-44 lead with 10:38 left to play. Wright capped the run with a three-point play.

Western Kentucky (6-11, 1-3) fought back to tie the game 65-all but both teams went scoreless over the final 2:25 until Tim Owens knocked down a jumper with 4 seconds remaining to win the game.

Ray Chambers scored 14 points while Alan Jones and Owens chipped in with 10 apiece for the Trojans.

Derrick Gordon led Western Kentucky with 16.

It was Western Kentucky’s first game under interim coach Ray Harper. The Hilltoppers fired former coach Ken McDonald on Friday after a 5-11 start and a controversial ending to a loss on Thursday against Louisiana-Lafayette.
