UNC Asheville trounces Liberty 98-75

ASHEVILLE, N.C. (AP) — J.P. Primm scored 21 points to lead six UNC Asheville players in double figures as the Bulldogs routed Liberty 98-75 Saturday in Big South Conference action.

UNC Asheville (11-6, 4-0), leading 44-34 at halftime, outscored Liberty 54-41 after intermission to pull away from the Flames (5-13, 0-5).

Primm sank 6 of 10 3-point attempts. Jaron Lane scored 15 points. Chris Stephenson, Jeremy Atkinson and Keith Hornsby added 12 apiece and Matt Dickey had 11.

UNC Asheville shot 62.1 percent from the floor (36 of 58). The Bulldogs hit 15 of 29 3-pointers and 11 of 14 free throws.

Primm became the first player in Big South history with 500 assists, 200 steals and 400 rebounds. His totals: 534, 211 and 400, respectively.

John Caleb Sanders led Liberty with 18 points. Jesse Sanders had 12 points and 10 assists to become the Big South’s career assist leader with 613.
