White’s triple-double lifts Iowa State 74-50

COLLEGE STATION, Texas (AP) — Royce White had a triple-double and four teammates scored in double figures as Iowa State rolled past Texas A&M 74-50 on Saturday.

The Cyclones (12-3, 2-0 Big 12) leaped to a 42-23 halftime lead and the Aggies (9-5, 0-2) never threatened in the second half.

Iowa State shot 46.7 percent from the field (28 of 60), and held the Aggies to 31.3 percent (21 of 67). Iowa State shot more than three times as many free throws (10-16 compared to 4-5 for Texas A&M).

White had 10 points, 18 rebounds and 10 assists.

Melvin Ejim led a balanced Iowa State scoring effort with 15 points, while Scott Christopherson followed with 13.

The Cyclones won at Texas A&M for the first time in 11 years, and defeated the Aggies for the first time in seven years overall.

Iowa State has won seven straight under second-year coach Fred Hoiberg.
