JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (AP) — Adam Sollazzo scored 20 points and Tommy Hubbard had a double-double to help East Tennessee State defeat Kennesaw State 73-69 Monday night.

The Buccaneers (8-7, 3-2 Atlantic Sun Conference) trailed by 11, 38-27, with 17:08 left to play. They then went on a 22-6 run and led 49-44 on Hubbard’s jumper with 9:41 left. The Owls (3-14, 0-6) went back up 54-51, but ETSU again answered on a jumper by Jarvis Jones and two free throws by Sollazzo to take the lead for good.

The Buccaneers allowed Kennesaw State to shoot 56.5 percent in the first half (13-23) before switching to man-to-man defense, and outscoring the Owls 50-38 in the second.

Hubbard had 15 points and 11 rebounds for ETSU, which was playing without coach Murry Bartow, who was attending the funeral services of his father.

Spencer Dixon led the Owls with 22 points and Markeith Cummings added 17.
