North Carolina A&T edges Florida A&M 85-82 in OT

GREENSBORO, N.C. (AP) -- Adrian Powell scored 22 points, including five in overtime, as North Carolina A&T edged Florida A&M 85-82 in a Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference game Monday night.

Powell assisted on Lawrence Smith's layup for the first points in overtime, then added a layup of his own to give the Aggies (6-12, 1-2) a 76-73 lead. After two free throws by the Rattlers' Amin Stevens cut the lead to one, Powell's 3-pointer made it 79-75 with 2:35 left.

Four free throws by Jeremy Underwood gave the Aggies an 85-79 lead, but he missed two attempts with 7 seconds left after Reggie Lewis hit a 3-pointer for Florida A&M. With the Rattlers (3-14, 1-2) trailing by three, Stevens missed an attempt at a tying 3-pointer.

Avery Moore scored 22 points to lead Florida A&M, including a 3-pointer that tied the game 72-72 at the end of regulation. Stevens had 15 points and 11 rebounds.
