VANCOUVER, Wash. (AP) — The federal government and Kaiser have agreed to pay Vancouver $383,000 to reimburse the city for the cost of monitoring old World War II shipyard debris buried near Marine Park boat landing.
The Columbian reports (http://is.gd/0EAGDP ) officials decided to leave the 60-year-old debris where it is and to monitor test wells to make sure it doesn’t contaminate groundwater.
