Kids and Cops Shopping Program gets $7,000 donation

Esther Short — Wal-Mart Stores Inc. and General Mills donated $7,000 to the city of Vancouver for the Domestic Violence Prosecution Center.

The money supports the Kids and Cops Shopping Program. The program pairs children who have dealt with domestic violence with law enforcement officers for holiday shopping in a positive and safe environment.

Shopping expeditions were Dec. 8 at the Mill Plain Boulevard Walmart and Dec. 15 at the 192nd Avenue Walmart. Fifty-eight children went shopping at with Clark County sheriff deputies and Vancouver police officers.
