DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (AP) — Danica Patrick and her new crew chief first met last week and found themselves working together for the first time Thursday at Daytona International Speedway.

Both think the relationship will work.

Patrick says Greg Zipadelli has been patient and polite as she adapts to her first time in a Sprint Cup car. The former IndyCar star is officially in NASCAR full-time now, and this three-day test session is in preparation for the season-opening Daytona 500.

Zipadelli says he’s enjoyed Patrick because she’s drama-free and eager to learn everything she can about her new Stewart-Haas Racing car.

Patrick will race for the Nationwide Series championship for JR Motorsports this season and run 10 Cup races for Stewart-Haas Racing. Her plan is to run a full Cup schedule in 2013.
