Jackson leads UALR over Louisiana-Monroe 72-51

MONROE, La. (AP) — Courtney Jackson scored a career-high 20 points and Arkansas-Little Rock remained unbeaten in Sun Belt Conference play with a 72-51 victory over Louisiana-Monroe on Thursday night.

Jackson scored 14 points in the first half, when the Trojans (7-11, 4-0) took a 17-4 lead and were ahead 34-20 with 4:20 left.

The Warhawks (2-16, 1-4) cut their halftime deficit to five, 38-33, after 3-pointers by Charles Winborne and Hugh Mingo in the final 1:06.

UALR pulled away in the second half as Louisiana-Monroe made one of its first 10 shots and finished the half at 24.1 percent (7 of 29). The Trojans led by double digits throughout the final 9:15.

D’Andre Williams and Chuck Guy scored 10 points each for UALR, and Williams had four steals.

Steven McClellan scored 15 points to lead the Warhawks, who got 11 points from Fred Brown and 10 each from Winborne and Christian Bibi Ndongo
