CHAUX-NEUVE, France (AP) — Alessandro Pittin of Italy earned his first victory in the Nordic combined World Cup on Friday, and Jason Lamy Chappuis of France extended his lead in the overall standings.

Pittin was 13th after the ski jump but rallied in the last lap of the 10-kilometer cross country to complete the race in 22 minutes, 29.6 seconds.

The 21-year-old Italian was runner-up last month in Lillehammer, Norway, and Seefeld, Austria.

Lamy Chappuis led after the jumps and finished second, 4.4 seconds behind Pittin, to increase his overall lead. Fabian Riessle of Germany took third.

Two more Nordic combined events in Chaux-Neuve are scheduled for this weekend.
