ANNAPOLIS, Md. (AP) — Ella Ellis scored 19 points and Army handed Navy its 10th consecutive defeat 75-62 Saturday in a Patriot League rivalry.

For the Black Knights (8-10, 1-2), it was their first win at Navy since 2008 and Army’s first double-digit victory in Annapolis since 1971. The Black Knights never trailed and ended a 10-game losing streak against Patriot League foes that included seven straight losses on the road.

Army hit 13 of 23 3-point attempts, with Ellis and guards Julian Simmons (18 points) and Josh Herbeck (15) combining for 11 of those 13.

For Navy (3-14, 0-3), J.J. Avila led all scorers with 21 points and grabbed 14 rebounds for a double-double. Jordan Sugars added 17 points and Isaiah Roberts 11, all in the second half.

The Midshipmen, who shot 42.6 per cent from the field, connected on just 26.1 per cent of their 3-pointers (6 of 23.).
