Mount St. Mary’s defeats Bryant 64-60

EMMITSBURG, Md. (AP) — Mount St. Mary’s overcame a 10-point deficit in the first half to defeat Bryant 64-60 on Saturday.

Julian Norfleet scored 16 points, Raven Barber added 12 and Kelvin Parker had 10 for the Mountaineers (4-13, 2-4 Northeast Conference), who are 5-1 against the Bulldogs.

Neither team led by more than five points over the final 16 minutes and the Mountaineers broke a 56-56 tie on consecutive baskets by Barber and Xavier Owens for a 60-56 lead with 1:50 remaining. Josh Castellanos hit a jumper and two free throws over the final minute to preserve the win for the Mountaineers, who are 3-3 since snapping a nine-game losing streak.

The Mountaineers shot 54.2 percent (13 of 24) from the field in the second half and ended at 48.1 percent (25 of 52).

Raphael Jordan scored 17 points, Alex Francis had 16 and Frankie Dobbs 12 for the Bulldogs (2-15, 1-5).
