Carolina’s Skinner returns after concussion

RALEIGH, N.C. (AP) — The Carolina Hurricanes have activated NHL rookie of the year Jeff Skinner from injured reserve after sitting out 16 games with a concussion.

The team announced he’s eligible to play Sunday night at Washington.

The 19-year-old Skinner was hurt Dec. 7 at Edmonton. At the time of the injury, he led the team with 12 goals and 24 points.
