Maradona cleared to leave hospital

DUBAI, United Arab Emirates (AP) -- Diego Maradona has been cleared to leave a hospital in Dubai after surgery to remove kidney stones.
A statement released Monday by the Dubai-based club Al Wasl said the coach and former Argentina great was told by doctors he could leave the hospital and recuperate at home. He had surgery Sunday after complaining of abdominal pains.
Maradona coached Al Wasl to a 2-1 victory over Al Ahli on Saturday. The club's next match is Jan. 23.
