Monday, January 16, 2012
EUGENE, Ore. (AP) -- A man who was shot to death Friday night in Cottage Grove had been scheduled to plead guilty Tuesday in Lane County Circuit Court in a case alleging he grew and sold marijuana.
Lane County prosecutors say they would have asked a judge to sentence 48-year-old Terry Fruichantie to probation.
The Register-Guard reports (http://is.gd/aVRGUb) witnesses told sheriff's detectives that Fruichantie was killed by two intruders who fought with him. The men fled after the shooting.
Fruichantie worked 25 years as a long-haul trucker.
