About 3 p.m. Monday, a 2000 Nissan pickup driven by Vera M. Nelson, 72, of Vancouver crashed into the rear of a 1997 Jeep Grand Cherokee driven by Mark J. Waldrop of Lacey, officials said.
The accident occurred on state Highway 500 westbound near Falk Road, according to a bulletin from the Washington State Patrol.
Waldrop slowed for traffic and Nelson’s pickup failed to slow and crashed into the rear of the pickup.
Waldrop suffered neck pain and was taken to PeaceHealth Southwest Medical Center. His condition was being evaluated.
Nelson was not reported injured.
Nelson was ticketed for alleged driving too fast for conditions, the bulletin said.
