LONGVIEW, Wash. (AP) — Retired Cowlitz County Superior Court Judge Jim Warme is fighting a speeding ticket issued automatically by a camera in a school zone.

In his appeal of a Longview Municipal Court decision, Warme acknowledges a car registered to him and his wife was photographed last May driving 31 mph in a 20 mph zone.

During a September hearing, Warme pointed out the photo does not show the face of the driver, and there is no way of proving who was behind the wheel. The municipal court judge found both Warme and his wife guilty.

Now Warme is asking, how can two people be guilty of driving one car too fast at the same time?

The Daily News reports (http://is.gd/BhZPC4 ) the interim Longview city attorney is preparing a response to the appeal.
