SPOKANE, Wash. (AP) — Firefighters rescued a woman from an apartment fire early Monday in north Spokane.
When firefighters arrived about 2:30 a.m. other residents who had escaped said she was still inside.
The Spokesman-Review reports (http://is.gd/Afo71f ) firefighters found the woman and took her to Sacred Heart Medical Center for smoke inhalation treatment. Her dog died in the apartment.
The Red Cross is helping seven residents who lived in the building.
