Northeastern edges Georgia State 60-57

BOSTON (AP) — Jonathan Lee scored 19 points, including two free throws with 13 seconds left for the final points in Northeastern’s 60-57 victory over Georgia State on Wednesday night.

The Huskies (9-8, 5-2 Colonial Athletic Association) made 8 of 10 shots from 3-point range in the first half, including 4 of 4 by Joel Smith, to take a 35-31 halftime lead.

Northeastern led by as many as 10 points, 48-38, before a 10-2 run by the Panthers (13-5, 5-2) cut the lead to 50-48.

Georgia State trimmed a 58-52 deficit to 58-57 with 15 seconds left, but Lee hit his two free throws and Jihad Ali missed a 3-point try for the Panthers with 5 seconds to play.

Quincy Ford scored 14 points and Smith 13 for Northeastern.

Eric Buckner led Georgia State with 17 points and six blocked shots, giving the senior forward 104 blocks in his career.
