Planters Days celebrates 90 years with 90% donation

Woodland — The Woodland Planters Days Festival, the oldest community festival in the state of Washington, turns 90 this June.
To commemorate its anniversary, the Planters Days committee will donate 90 percent of the festival’s profits to build a new sports park near Scott Hill Road. Plans for the park include baseball diamonds, soccer fields, multi-use fields, a walking trail with exercise stations, a playground, a covered picnic area and a concession stand. Funding for the park is expected to come entirely from donations.
The Planters Days theme this year is “Celebrating 90 years of Community Spirit,” and the 90 percent donation is an extension of the theme.
