Boys basketball: Mountain View 57, Kelso 52

The Mountain View Thunder got a strong defensive effort in the second half and were able to pick up the road win.

Zach Torson scored 18 points to lead the Thunder. Rico Bolivar connected on four 3-pointers for his 12 points.

Ryan Johnson added 10 for Mountain View, which remained in second place in the 3A Greater St. Helens League.

Aaron Adams made five 3-pointers and scored 19 points for Kelso.

The Thunder trailed by three at the half, but held Kelso to 22 points in the second half.

Johnson got the game’s biggest rebound, with 40 seconds left and a four-point Mountain View. From there, it was a free throw game and the Thunder made their share.
