BURLINGTON, Vt. (AP) — Matt Glass scored 16 points, including a 3-pointer with 32 seconds left, to lead Vermont over Albany (N.Y.) 73-69 in an America East Conference game Thursday night.

After Luke Apfeld hit two free throws to give the Catamounts (11-10, 5-2) a 68-67 lead with 1:47 remaining, Glass’ 3-pointer with 31 seconds left stretched their lead to 71-67.

Albany had taken a 67-66 lead with 4:06 to play on a 3-pointer by Logan Aronhalt, but the Great Danes (12-9, 4-3) didn’t score again until Gerardo Suero’s layup with 12 seconds to play made it 71-69. Four McGlynn then sank two free throws for Vermont for the final margin.

Brendan Bald scored 12 points, Clancy Rugg 11 and Apfeld 10 for Vermont.

Suero, who came in averaging 21.6 points per game, had 16 to lead Albany, with Mike Black getting 14 and Aronhalt 12. Aronhalt surpassed 1,000 points for his career.
