New Mexico State stops San Jose State 79-63

SAN JOSE, Calif. (AP) — Wendell McKines scored 24 points and Hamidu Rahman added a season-high 20 to lift New Mexico State past San Jose State 79-63 on Thursday night.

McKines and Rahman had eight rebounds apiece for the Aggies (14-5, 4-0), who won their sixth straight game and are tied for the Western Athletic Conference lead with Nevada.

Rahman was 7 for 7 from the field and NMSU shot 52 percent from outside. The Aggies, who never trailed, built a 65-41 lead midway through the second half.

Keith Shamburger scored 19 points for San Jose State (6-12, 0-4). Wil Carter had 13 points and nine rebounds for the Spartans.
