PeaceHealth Southwest Medical Center’s cardiovascular rehabilitation program has received its three-year certification from the American Association of Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Rehabilitation.

The rehabilitation programs are designed to help people with cardiovascular problems (such as heart attacks and coronary artery bypass graft surgery) and pulmonary problems (such as chronic obstructive pulmonary disease and respiratory symptoms) recover faster and improve their quality of life. Both programs include exercise, education, counseling and support for patients.

The PeaceHealth Southwest cardiovascular rehabilitation program — an outpatient program that works with PeaceHealth’s Heart & Vascular Center — has received continuous accreditation honors for the past 20 years. Most recently, the program completed a one-month application process, which requires extensive documentation of the program’s practices.
