San Diego powers past Portland 82-63

PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) -- Ken Rancifer scored 15 points and San Diego went 14 of 19 from 3-point range to beat Portland 82-63 Thursday night.

Five Toreros (7-11, 2-4 WCC) scored in double figures. Johnny Dee and Darian Norris had 14 points apiece.

Freshman guard Kevin Bailey scored 22 points to lead the Pilots (5-14, 2-4).

San Diego was torrid from the 3-point line throughout the game. The Toreros hit 6 of 9 from 3-point range during the first half to take a 40-35 halftime lead, then hit eight 3-pointers during the second half. San Diego established its first double-digit lead of the game when Dennis Kramer hit a 3-pointer to give the Toreros a 71-59 lead with 3:02 remaining.

Portland shot just 2 of 12 from 3-point range, but out-rebounded San Diego 34-22. Ryan Nicholas had 13 rebounds for the Pilots.
