Shots fired in Yakima robbery

YAKIMA, Wash. (AP) -- A robber fired two blasts from a sawed-off shotgun at a store clerk in Yakima. Police say both shots missed Thursday afternoon, but the clerk suffered minor facial injuries during the struggle.

Police say the fleeing robber attempted to carjack at least two motorists before he was arrested.

The 39-year-old suspect has a criminal record that includes burglary and drug convictions.
