UMKC dominates Western Illinois 72-50

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) — Reggie Chamberlain scored 23 points and Kirk Korver added 18 as UMKC dismantled Western Illinios 72-50 Thursday night.

UMKC (8-13, 2-7 Summit League) asserted itself with a 13-2 run spanning three minutes toward the end of the first half, but held a mere 29-24 lead at the break due to Western Illinois (9-8, 4-5) shooting a torrid 66.7 percent from 3-point range.

The Roos ended the game with an 18-3 run beginning at the 8:13 mark of the second half to secure the lopsided victory.

Trinity Hall and Thomas Staton scored 13 points apiece for UMKC.

Tommie Tyler led Western Illinois with 11 points and Ceola Clark added 10 and six assists.
