Chicago State slips by Houston Baptist 98-95 in OT

CHICAGO (AP) — Jeremy Robinson had 22 points and 13 rebounds Saturday, leading Chicago State to a 98-95 overtime victory against Houston Baptist.

Ardarius Simmons scored 20 points for the Cougars (2-17, 1-1 Great West), who made 4 of 6 shots and 9 of 14 free throws in overtime. Aaron Williams added 19 points and 11 rebounds, and Lee Fisher scored 12.

Terry Bembry led the Huskies (6-12, 0-2) with 20 points. Marcus Davis had a double-double with 12 points and 13 rebounds. Anthony Hill and Art Bernardi scored 14 apiece, and Tyler Russell and Marcel Smith pitched in with 10 each for Houston Baptist, which has lost two in a row and five of six.

Robinson’s three-point play with 58 seconds left in regulation tied it at 81 and forced overtime.

The Cougars scored the first six points in overtime, and the Huskies never led after that. Robinson scored six in OT.
