Long Beach State defeats UC Santa Barbara 71-48

SANTA BARBARA, Calif. (AP) — Larry Anderson scored 19 points and James Ennis and Casper Ware added 14 each to lead Long Beach State to a 71-48 victory against UC Santa Barbara on Saturday night.

T.J. Robinson had 11 points and 11 rebounds for the 49ers (14-6, 7-0 Big West), who last won their first seven conference games in 1999-2000, when they opened 9-0. Long Beach State has won 16 straight Big West contests.

Alan Williams and Orlando Johnson led the Gauchos (9-7, 4-2) with 10 points each.

An 18-2 run over the last 7:05 of the first half gave the 49ers permanent control. Anderson had seven points and Robinson six during the surge.

The 49ers, who shot 58.7 percent (27 of 46) from the floor, poured it on in the second half, building a 31-point cushion.
