DENTON, Texas (AP) — Alzee Williams’ tip-in at the overtime buzzer gave North Texas a 75-74 win over Denver on Saturday night.

It was only Williams’ second basket of the game; he played a career-high 42 minutes. Tony Mitchell scored 30 points and pulled down a career-high 17 rebounds, and Roger Franklin added 18 points and 10 boards for the Mean Green (12-8, 5-2 Sun Belt), who got their fifth win in six games.

Royce O’Neale led the Pioneers (15-5, 5-2) with 21 points and eight rebounds off the bench, and Brett Olson had 15 points. Denver fell to 0-5 when allowing 66 or more points; the Pioneers are 15-0 when holding their opponents to 65 points or fewer.

Denver trailed by seven points with 52 seconds left in regulation but rallied to force overtime. O’Neale hit a 3-pointer, Chase Hallam made a free throw and Olson converted a three-point play to tie it.
