LAKE CHARLES, La. (AP) — William Mosley scored 16 points and Shamir Davis hit a 3-pointer at the buzzer to help Northwestern State beat McNeese State 64-61 on Saturday.

Northwestern State (10-9, 3-2 Southland Conference) led 46-41 with 12:53 remaining before McNeese State used an 18-7 run to jump ahead 59-53. Mosley then scored six straight points and Davis made a layup to tie the 61-all with 1:15 left to play.

Northwestern State held McNeese State scoreless over the final 2 minutes and called a timeout with 1 second remaining to set up Davis’ game-winner.

The win snaps a five game home winning streak for the Cowboys.

Mosley, who also had six rebounds, became the first Northwestern State player with 1,000 career rebounds since Billy Reynolds (1973-77).

Despite allowing McNeese State (7-10, 3-2) to score 40 points in the paint, the Demons scored 33 points off turnovers and outscored the Cowboys 18-8 on second-chance points.
