ESTACADA, Ore (AP) -- Rescuers searched early Monday morning for a young girl who fell into the Clackamas River near Austin Hot Springs.
Clackamas County Sheriff's office says rescuers began searching the area after receiving a 911 call from the child's father shortly after 4 p.m. Sunday.
The 6- or 7-year-old girl fell into the river in an area of the Mt. Hood National Forest, about 30 miles southeast of Estacada.
The sheriff's office dispatchers said about 1:30 a.m. Monday that the search was still under way and that a National Guard helicopter was involved in the effort.
No further details of the incident were provided.
