Search resumes for young girl in Clackamas River
Sunday, January 22, 2012
ESTACADA, Ore (AP) -- The Clackamas County sheriff's office says the search is resuming with daylight Monday for a 6- or 7-year-old girl who fell into the Clackamas River in the Mount Hood National Forest.
The search started Sunday evening after the sheriff's office received a 911 call from the girl's father saying she was swept away near Austin Hot Springs, which is about 30 miles southeast of Estacada.
The Clackamas River is running very fast and cold because of the winter storm that brought rain and snow to the region.
