DERA ISMAIL KHAN, Pakistan (AP) — Pakistani intelligence officials say U.S. unmanned aircraft fired four missiles at a house near the Afghan border, killing at least four people.

The officials say Wednesday’s attack in Khyder Khel village in the North Waziristan tribal area also wounded two people. The identities and nationalities of those killed and wounded were unclear.

The officials spoke on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to talk to the media.

The U.S. refuses to acknowledge the drone strikes publicly, but officials have said privately that they have killed several senior Taliban and al-Qaida leaders.

Many of the strikes have occurred in North Waziristan, a lawless area filled with militants who often launch attacks against foreign troops in Afghanistan.
