Delaware hands Towson 40th loss in row, 62-43

NEWARK, Del. (AP) — Devon Saddler scored 16 points and Kyle Anderson 14 as Delaware used a late surge to pull away for a 62-43 victory over winless Towson on Monday night.

The Blue Hens (9-10, 5-4 Colonial Athletic Association) held Towson to one basket over a span of 10:30 during which they outscored the Tigers 20-4.

Towson (0-21, 0-9) lost for the 40th consecutive time, dating to last season, extending its Division I record. The Tigers have been outscored by an average of 20.4 points in conference games.

The Tigers never led but trailed just 24-22 at halftime and 31-29 with 15 minutes left in the game. But led by Jarvis Threatt, who scored nine points in a span of 6:07, the Blue Hens widened their lead to 46-37.

Marcus Damas led Towson with 16 points and Robert Nwankwo had nine points and 12 rebounds, ending his streak of three straight double-doubles.
