Loyola Marymount defeats Santa Clara 74-62

SANTA CLARA, Calif. (AP) — Anthony Ireland scored 16 of his 25 points in the second half to help Loyola Marymount beat Santa Clara 74-62 on Monday night.

Drew Viney added 16 points for the Lions (12-8, 5-2 WCC), who have won four of their last five games. LaRon Armstead added 11 points.

Evan Roquemore scored 17 points and Yannick Aranga 12 for the Broncos (8-11, 0-6), who lost their seventh straight.

Niyi Harrison had 11 points and nine rebounds for Santa Clara, which played without leading scorer Kevin Foster, held out because of a violation of team rules. Three other regulars were held out for the same discretion.

The Lions held a 41-35 advantage at halftime.
