ALAMEDA, Calif. (AP) — The Chicago Bears say offensive coordinator Mike Tice will no longer interview for the Oakland Raiders vacant head coaching job.
Tice had been scheduled to meet with Oakland general manager Reggie McKenzie on Tuesday at the Senior Bowl in Mobile, Ala.
But the Bears said Monday that interview won’t take place because the Raiders have moved onto the “second phase” of their interview process.
McKenzie has been searching for a replacement for Hue Jackson, who was fired Jan. 10 after going 8-8 in his only season on the job.
The Raiders have been tightlipped about the search, but McKenzie told Comcast SportsNet Bay Area that a hiring could come this week.
