Wallace, North Florida beat Kennesaw State 76-68

KENNESAW, Ga. (AP) — Travis Wallace scored a career-high 27 points and North Florida fought off a late surge by Kennesaw State for a 76-68 Atlantic Sun Conference victory Monday night.

The Ospreys (10-12, 4-5) snapped a four-game losing streak with their fifth straight victory over the Owls (3-18, 0-9), who have lost nine straight.

North Florida led 65-48 with 7:21 to play, but Kennesaw State battled back to get within three points, 71-68, with 1:05 left.

The Ospreys added a free throw by Matt Sauey and a layup by Wallace, a native of nearby Marietta, Ga., to make it 74-68. Parker Smith then stole the ball from Markeith Cummings and added two free throws for the final margin.

Smith finished with 18 points including five 3-pointers, and Jimmy Williams had eight assists.

Aaron Anderson had 19 points and 14 rebounds for Kennesaw State. Markeith Cummings added 17 points and Delbert Love 15.
