SEATTLE (AP) — Forecasters say a Pacific frontal system moving through Washington Tuesday will bring winds and rain, and snow in the mountains.
The National Weather Service says the coast and northwest interior will have winds of 20 to 35 mph with gusts to 55. The Seattle area will have 15 to 30 mph winds with gusts to 45.
Forecasters expect 1 to 2 inches of rain on the coast and up to an inch-and-a-half over the interior lowlands. Minor flooding is possible through Thursday on flood-prone rivers in southwest Washington.
Heavy snow in the Cascades will increase the potential for avalanches.
In Eastern Washington, forecasters say the storm will bring wintry precipitation and breezy conditions with temperatures above average Wednesday and Thursday.
