Bucknell rallies to beat American 67-61

LEWISBURG, Pa. (AP) — Mike Muscala scored 21 points and grabbed 11 rebounds to help Bucknell rally and beat American University 67-61 on Wednesday night for its eighth straight win.

Bucknell trailed 21-14 with 5:55 left in the first half before the Bison used a 14-4 run to take a 28-25 lead into halftime.

The Bison (16-6, 6-0 Patriot League) continued the run in the second half, as Muscala opened the period with six straight points. His free throw with 8:36 left gave Bucknell a 52-38 lead.

Muscala made 8 of 12 shots from the field for the Bison, who shot 51.1 percent (23 of 45).

Bucknell has won 16 straight against Patriot League foes dating back to last season.

American (13-8, 4-2) made 83.3 percent (15 of 18) of its free throws but the Eagles only converted 20 of 52 shots from the field.

Daniel Munoz led American with 16.
