Wednesday, January 25, 2012
Arnada — A dozen local businesses on Upper Main Street and in downtown Vancouver helped Occupy Vancouver sponsor the free showing of the movie “I Am” at Kiggins Theater on Jan. 16 and 17. The film, written and directed by Tom Shadyac, was one man’s journey to find the truth. While the film was free, organizers collected donations for local charities including Evergreen Habitat for Humanity, Friends of the Carpenter, Urban Growers Market and Must Love Dogs NW. Sponsoring businesses were: Canine Utopia, Mt. Tabor Brewing, Neighbors Market, PDH Creative, Pop Culture, Mint Tea, Frontdoor Back, Urban Eccentric, Ice Cream Renaissance, Niche Wine & Art, Shanti Yoga, and Vancouver Food Co-op. Each business donated $75.
