Galloway, La Salle beat George Washington 78-63

PHILADELPHIA (AP) — Ramon Galloway scored 21 of his career-high 28 points in the first half to lead La Salle over George Washington 78-63 Wednesday night.

The Explorers’ leading scorer (14.8 points per game) was 11 of 12 from the field, going 6 of 7 from 3-point range to lead La Salle to its best shooting performance of the season. The Explorers (15-6, Atlantic 10 Conference) made 57.7 percent from the field (30 of 52) and 57.1 percent from behind the arc (8 of 14).

The feat was made easier with 40 points coming in the paint, 22 off turnovers and 13 on the fast break.

La Salle took a 51-38 lead at halftime by making 21 of 29 shots in the first half.

Earl Pettis chipped in 15 points and Jerrell Wright 12 as La Salle won its 13th straight at home.

Nemanja Mikic scored 13 points for the Colonials (8-12, 3-3).
