Maine beats New Hampshire 80-69, snaps 5-game skid

DURHAM, N.H. (AP) — Gerald McLemore scored 25 points and Alasdair Fraser had 22 points and 10 rebounds as Maine ended a five-game losing streak with an 80-69 victory over New Hampshire on Wednesday night.

Justin Edwards added 14 points and 10 rebounds and Raheem Singleton had nine points and six assists for the Black Bears (9-10, 3-5 America East Conference), who outscored New Hampshire 19-8 after the game was tied at 61 with 9:13 remaining.

Maine made 7 of 10 shots from the field during that run, including two baskets apiece by McLemore and Fraser, while the Wildcats (7-12, 2-6) were just 3 of 12 and committed five turnovers.

The Black Bears outshot New Hampshire overall 51.7 percent (30 of 58) to 37.7 percent (23 of 61) and outrebounded the Wildcats 46-28.

Chandler Rhoads scored 17 points, Patrick Konan 16 and Brian Benson 15 to lead New Hampshire.
