Barone boosts Idaho over San Jose State 74-66

MOSCOW, Idaho (AP) — Kyle Barone scored 21 points and pulled down 10 rebounds for his sixth double-double of the season to help Idaho beat San Jose State 74-66 on Thursday night.

Deremy Geiger also added 21 points and tied a season high with seven 3-pointers for Idaho (11-10, 4-2 WAC). Djim Bandoumel had his first double double of the season with 11 points and a career-high 10 rebounds.

D.J. Brown scored 18 points for San Jose State (7-14, 0-6 WAC). Wil Carter and James Kinney each added 15 for the Spartans.

San Jose could not defend the perimeter or contain Geiger, who went 4-for-5 from beyond the arc in the second half.

Idaho would end the night with 11 long-range baskets (48 percent).
