Gaines scores 23 as IPFW earns 75-66 victory

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (AP) — Frank Gaines scored 23 points and grabbed 10 rebounds to lead IPFW to a 75-66 over North Dakota State on Thursday night.

IPFW (10-10, 4-7 Summit) used a 21-11 run over the final 6 12 minutes to gain control of the contest.

A layup by Michael Kibiloski put IPFW in the lead for good. That was followed by a basket by Jonny Marlin, two baskets by Mario Hines and a dunk by Gaines. A layup by Justin Jordan with 2:40 left in the game allowed the IPFW lead to reach double figures.

Jordan scored 12 points. IPFW had five players with five or more rebounds, leading to a 38-24 advantage.

North Dakota State (13-7, 6-4) got 24 points and 10 rebounds from Taylor Braun, 16 points from Lawrence Alexander and 15 points from Mike Felt.
