Harvard routs Yale 65-35 for 5th straight win

NEW HAVEN, Conn. (AP) — Laurent Rivard scored 18 points and Harvard routed Yale 65-35 on Friday night for its fifth straight win.

Harvard led 30-19 and used a 15-4 run to take a 48-27 lead after a Rivard layup with 10:44 remaining. The Crimson ended the game on a 10-3 run for the final margin.

It was the lowest point total for Yale, which came in averaging 75.4 points per game, since scoring 35 in a loss to Princeton on March 3, 1995.

Harvard (17-2, 3-0 Ivy League), shot 45.3 percent (24 of 53) from the field and forced 22 Yale turnovers. Steve Moundou-Missi added 10 points for the Crimson.

Greg Mangano scored 17 points to surpass 1,000 points in his career for the Bulldogs (12-5, 2-1), who had a four-game winning streak snapped.

The Crimson held Yale to 31.7 percent (13 of 41) shooting from the field.
